Thanks to everyone who submitted proposals for our forthcoming festival. The closing date was Friday and we've had a terrific response with some great shows coming your way (as well as a few mad ones....). We will be finalising details at our committee meeting next week and hope to release details of our advance programme ASAP. By the way, we are refreshing the membership of our festival committee so if you would be interested in helping us develop our 2 festivals, drop us a message. We're particularly looking for people with a legal, finance or fundraising background. A sense of humour will also be needed to work with us!

2017 call for ideas and events

come up with an idea for an event and apply to present it as part of the festival

This Call for Ideas and Events is intended to give our stakeholders a part in shaping the festival, from suggesting programming ideas to directly creating and delivering events. Although we can’t run with every proposal, we promise to look seriously at every suggestion and come back to you with a reasoned response. Unfortunately with limited funding, we won’t be able to support as many events compared to last year.

We can however offer successful event organisers inclusion in the festival marketing campaign (website, social media, press releases, brochures etc) and invites to the launch event. Last year we organised over 60 events attracting an audience of over 9,000 comedy fans. You’ll need to complete the following Event Submission Form and we’d like your ideas as soon as possible but the final deadline will be 16 June 2017.

how do I get involved?

We request that you use the attached submission form and include as much detail as possible. Your email will be acknowledged, before being considered alongside other ideas at festival programming meetings. Shortlisted suggestions will be taken forward and the final decision will be made by end of June 2017.

All events must take place during 2 – 8 October 2017.

Your event(s) should be open to the public and be as cheap as possible.

Events should be fully accessible and every effort should be made to cater for the special needs of attendees.

other opportunities

There will be opportunities to participate as a volunteer with the production team. Other opportunities will develop for individuals and groups nearer the festival so send us an expression of interest by emailing us before 14 July 2017.
